What is Sustanon?
Sustanon 250 is one of the most popular testosterone ester products. Unlike most other steroid injectables, Sustanon comprises a mixture of esters: This mixture includes short, medium, and long-acting esters.
Sustanon was developed by Organon as an ideal HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy) solution, and it was thought at the time that the different esters would be able to provide a constant release of Testosterone over a month’s time. Sustanon is a blend of different estered testosterones (4 of them): testosterone propionate - 30 mg, testosterone phenyl propionate - 60 mg, testosterone isocaproate - 60mg, and testosterone decanoate -100 mg.
Sustanon causes both muscle growth as well as fat loss. Sustanon send messages to muscle cells to store more contractile protein, thus causing muscle growth. In general, dose should be adjusted according to the requirement of every patient.
Usually, 1 injection of 1 ml per four weeks is suitable.
Sustanon is also effective when relatively minimum quantities are indicated to well advance athletes. High doses of androgens may enhance the anticoagulant action of coumarin type agents allowing a reduction of the dose of these agents.
Sustanon use may result in decreased levels of thyroxin-binding globulin, resulting in decreased total T4 serum levels and increased resin uptake of T3 and T4. Free thyroid hormone levels remain unchanged, and there is no clinical evidence of thyroid dysfunction.
Pregnancy and lactation
There is no such complete information for the use of Sustanon in pregnant women. In view of the risk of virilization of the fetus, Sustanon should not be used during pregnancy. Treatment with Sustanon should be discontinued when pregnancy occurs.
Due to its incomplete information, Sustanon should be avoided during lactation.
Precautions related to Sustanon:
If androgen-associated adverse reactions occur, treatment should be interrupted and, after disappearance of the symptoms, be resumed at a lower dosage. Patients with latent or overt cardiac failure, renal dysfunction, hypertension, epilepsy or migraine (or a history of these conditions) should be monitored, since androgens may occasionally induce salt and fluid retention.
Androgens should be used cautiously in prepubertal boys to avoid premature epiphyseal closure or precocious sexual development. A decrease in protein bound iodine (PBI) may occur.
