Important information about TADACIP
Keep all appointments with your doctor. Do not let anyone else take your medication. Ask your pharmacist any questions you have about refilling your prescription. It is important for you to keep a written list of all of the prescription and nonprescription (over-the-counter) medicines you are taking, as well as any products such as vitamins, minerals, or other dietary supplements. You should bring this list with you each time you visit a doctor or if you are admitted to a hospital. It is also important information to carry with you in case of emergencies.
USAGE:
Follow the directions on your prescription label. It is usually taken only when needed, just before sexual activity. However, it may also be taken daily (at a lower dose), regardless of when sexual activity is planned. Follow your doctor's instructions. It can help achieve an erection when sexual stimulation occurs. Follow your doctor's instructions. . If you take TADACIP every day and you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose. Overdose symptoms may include chest pain, nausea, irregular heartbeat, and feeling light-headed or fainting.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
NOTES: Do not share this medication with others, since they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this drug, or they may have a condition that is complicated by this drug.
MISSED DOSE: If you are taking this medication on a regular schedule and you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to catch up.
SIDE EFFECTS:
TADACIP may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
headache
indigestion or heartburn
nausea
diarrhea
flushing
pain in the stomach, back, muscles, arms, or legs
cough
sudden loss of vision (see below for more information)
blurred vision
changes in color vision (seeing a blue tinge on objects or having difficulty telling the difference between blue and green)
sudden decrease or loss of hearing (see below for more information)
ringing in ears
erection that lasts longer than 4 hours
dizziness
chest pain
hives
rash
blistering or peeling of skin
Some side effects can be serious. If you experience any of these symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
Some patients experienced a sudden loss of some or all of their vision after they took TADACIP or other medications that are similar to TADACIP. The vision loss was permanent in some cases. It is not known if the vision loss was caused by the medication. If you experience a sudden loss of vision while you are taking TADACIP, call your doctor immediately.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The breakdown and elimination of TADACIP from the body may be decreased by erythromycin, ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), indinavir (Crixivan) and ritonavir (Norvir). Therefore, these drugs may increase the levels of TADACIP in the blood. If these drugs are being used at the same time as TADACIP, the dose of TADACIP should be reduced in order to avoid side effects from high levels of TADACIP
